The below information was pulled from the 2011-2013 Domestic Violence Crime Report created using the Tennessee Incident Based Report System (TIBRS) and prepared by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation CJIS Support Center

Crimes identified as domestically related in TIBRS must always have the victim type of Individual. Crimes Against Society and Crimes Against Property cannot be flagged as domestic violence in TIBRS. The below table displays domestic violence OFFENSES by gender while the chart breaks out the OFFENSES by victim race and sex.





Data collected from TIBRS revealed that women are consistently the primary victims of domestic violence offenses each year from 2011 through 2013 wit the expection of one offence, Forcible Sodomy. Male victims accouted for 28.1 percent of all domestic vioelnce victims. As such, females in Tennessee are three times more likely that males to become victims of domestic abuse.

The below chart depicts the victims relationship to the offender. As you can see through 2011-13 28,500 simple assault offenses were perpetrated by the victims spouse.



A total of 4,504 Homosexual Victim to Offender relationships were documented as domestic violence from 2011-2013. As you see from the below pie graph females are 65.5% of domestic violence victims between same-sex couples. Examination of the domestic violense offenses reported reveal that 72.1% of reported offenses were Simple Assault.



The below chart depicts five offenses in which juveniles are victimized at a higher rate than adults. Juveniles were more than six times more likely to be victims of Forcible Fondling in a domestic assault than adults.
