There are hundreds of ways you can help put an end to domestic violence and sexual assault.
Take a stand. Break the silence. End the Cycle.

Your words alone can be extremely powerful in breaking the silence. Speak out for all the victims that lack the courage or the chance to do so for themselves. Start by spreading the word about the Center of Hope and its mission to provide support, prevent violence and promote justice for victims of crime and abuse, their families and communities.

• Speak out against violence in television and movies.
• Take a stand; don’t tolerate jokes about rape, race or violence.
• Attend rallies and protests against violence.
• Ask your legislators to increase funding for programs that offer services to victims of violence and/or violence prevention education.
• Make sure that local schools address violence as part of the curriculum.
• Call law enforcement when you see or hear that someone is being abused.
• Educate yourself about domestic violence and then educate your family and friends.
• Discuss violence with your children and make sure they know what signs to look for when choosing relationships and where to go for help if they are physically assaulted.

• Answer the 24-hour Crisis Hotline (day and night shifts)
• Clean and organize the shelter buildings
• Help with donations
• Assist in answering office phones during the day
• Help transport victims to and from appointments
• Advocate for Center of Hope within the community
• Donate professional services (maintenance, electrical, plumbing, construction, cleaning, etc.)

Give so others can make the choice of living free of abuse. Money should never be a barrier for one seeking help in a crisis. Center of Hope relies heavily upon the generosity of the people of Maury County and surrounding areas.
